  • Former 'Entourage' star drums up work

    18 Apr 2012 | 11:02 pm
Until that Entourage movie materializes, former HBO star Adrian Grenier always has his other gig playing drums for his band, the Honey Brothers. The group will perform at 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the Fair Park band shell as part of the Earth Day Dallas festivities. Saturday night, it'll be at House of Blues to attend a party hosted by Earth Day Dallas -- which is actually Earth two-day Dallas, this Saturday and Sunday at Fair Park -- and Trammell S. Crow. Back before Grenier was a cable TV heartthrob, he and the Honey Brothers performed on New York street corners. They've released two studio…
  • 'GCB' writer/producer has some serious character

    18 Apr 2012 | 11:01 pm
The women of GCB are the latest in a continuum of strong female characters penned by GCB writer/producer Robert Harling. Steel Magnolias is set in his hometown of Natchitoches, La., and was inspired by the death of Harling's younger sister. He wrote the character of Elise in The First Wives Club for Goldie Hawn. - Alan Peppard

Two weeks ago, renewal seemed like a lock. But this is show biz, and, just like in horse racing, nothing is a lock. Back then, the…
  • Pop/CounterPop -- Golden Globes edition

  • What we're watching: "Saturday Night Live"

    16 Jan 2011 | 12:57 am
Two solid shows of "SNL"...back to back? Say it ain't so! Nevertheless, the impossible has happened, and this reporter couldn't be happier. This week's excellence had to do a lot with host Gwyneth Paltrow having great timing and experience (as this is her third time hosting) coupled with refreshingly smart writing. Be sure to watch it in its entirety - most of it is worth your time.
